Elsa Burns, 75, of Hanover, beloved wife of Jerry D. Burns, Sr., entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home.
Born on Friday, February 16, 1940 in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Franklin P. and Laura Mister Stone. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Kevin Wayne Stansbury, Bryan Keith Stansbury and Emerson Eugene Stansbury, Jr.
Elsa will be remembered for her beautiful voice. She sang throughout the Baltimore-Washington area having spent most of her career at Bill Pellington’s Iron Horse Restaurant in Timonium and most recently in the Little Italy section of Baltimore.
Surviving, in addition to her husband is a daughter, Lisa A. Docimo and her husband, Douglas; a step-son, Jerry D. Burns, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, all of Hanover; a sister, Evelyn Bradford; and a brother, Matthew Stone, both of Baltimore; seven grandchildren, Emerson Eugene Stansbury, III, Bryan Keith Stansbury, Jennifer Marie Dewberry, Sarah Elizabeth Dewberry, Taylor Morgan, Courtney Ann Hippensteel and Jeremy David Burns; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 5 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with Bishop Gregory A. Baughman officiating. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.
