Elmo H. Brown, Jr., 88, loving husband of Lucille J. Goellner Brown of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born July 31, 1924 in Hannibal, MO, he was the son of Elmo H. Brown, Sr. and Frances A. Yancey Brown. He was a 1942 graduate of Jennings High School in St. Louis and attended Washington University also in St. Louis.
Mr. Brown was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired in 1986 as a district manager for the Charles Bruning Co., where he had worked for 34 years.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by a daughter, Betty L. Brown of Hanover; a sister, Betty Y. Sitter of Cape Girardeau, MO; and his “grand-dog”, Buddy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2PM Friday, April 26, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover celebrated by The Rev. James E. Lease . Burial will follow in St. Vincent’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
