Elizabeth F. Thorne, 90, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at The Village at Utz Terrace.
Born on Wednesday, June 29, 1927 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Harry Francis Meyer and Ada Lillian Herbert Meyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Vernon E. Thorne, who died in 2004; a daughter, Sharon McCloud; and three brothers, Robert, Harry and Charles Meyer. Elizabeth was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in New Oxford and the Accomack Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star #62 in Chincoteague, VA. In her spare time, she loved to read and crochet dish cloths.
Survivors include two children, Linda J. Watts and her husband, Roy, of Hanover, and Rick Thorne and his wife, Flo, of Manchester, MD; a brother, Leslie Meyer and his wife, Faye, of Colorado; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private service is planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive – Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
