Elizabeth Panebaker Mohr

Elizabeth Panebaker Mohr, 95, formerly of Salisbury, Maryland, passed away October 24, 2009, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John Jacob Mohr.



Born on March 4th, 1914 in Hanover, PA, Elizabeth was the only daughter to the late William and Elizabeth Panebaker and was preceded in death by six brothers. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1939. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Samuel Chase Chapter of Salisbury, a Daughter of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, and a Daughter of the U.S. Veterans of the War of 1812. Elizabeth was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury, MD. She was a Girl Scout leader and was among one of the first kindergarten teachers in Wicomico County. She was a painter, sewer, and was most accomplished in the art of eggeury. She enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.



Survivors include her twin daughters, Margaret and her husband Kenneth W. Dungan of Kingston, TN., Elizabeth and her husband Anthony Navarro of Owings, MD; a son, John H. Mohr and Linda DiBenedetto of Somerville, MA; six grandchildren, Sarah and Katherine Dungan, Laura Abod, Elizabeth Gaither, and Michael and Maria Navarro; two great-grandchildren, Cary and Cooper Abod; a brother, Harold and his wife, Ruth Panebaker of Baltimore, MD; and sister-in-law Mary Louise Panebaker of Venice, FL.



A private graveside service will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Hanover, PA
