Elinor I. Jansson Williams, 88 of Hanover passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on Sunday, April 30, 1933 in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Edward Gustav Jansson and Daisy Matilda Forstrom Jansson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Franklin A. Williams who died on September 29, 2020; and a sister, Jean Marie Svalgard.
A 1957 graduate of Hunter College in New York, Elinor was a dedicated homemaker, caring for her husband and children for many years. She was later employed by Hanover General Hospital for 23 years, before retiring in 1999. She was a member of Emmanuel Church of Christ and the Penn Township Lioness’ and enjoyed watercolor painting and reading.
Survivors include four daughters, Christine Irwin and her husband, Jeffrey, of Highland Ranch, CO, Jean Michelle Driscoll and her husband, Matthew, of McMinnville, OR, Wendy Livelsberger and her husband, Phil, of Hanover, and Karen Williams, of Cockeysville, MD; one son, Franklin A. Williams, Jr. and his wife, Heather, of Missouri; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Hanover with The Rev. Peter A. Seiler, Jr. officiating.
