Edward M. Resh, 93, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community with his family by his side.
Born on Tuesday, March 1, 1927 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Maurice and Mary Wentz Resh. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel B. Resh, who died in 2019; and a sister, Elizabeth I. Bixler.
A proud World War II veteran, he served in the United States Navy and the Pennsylvania National Guard, where he was a part of the Calvary Club, for 25 years and employed by United States Postal Service for over 30 years. Involved in the community, he was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, the Hanover Elks Lodge #763, and the Home Association of McSherrystown. An avid outdoorsman, Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include five children, Andrea Brillhart and her husband, Keith, of Vero Beach, FL, Steven F. Resh and his wife, Catherine, of La Vale, MD, Joseph E. Resh of Dillsburg, Susan E. Muller and her husband, Hugh, of Dover and Martha “Molly” A. Regal and her husband, Daniel, of Abbottstown; 12 grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren with two more expected later this year.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Friday, February 26, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Church with The Rev. Michael P. Reid, II serving as celebrant. Burial will be held privately in St. Vincent’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.
