Edna M. “Katie” Lauer, 95, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on Sunday, October 23, 1921 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Rev. J. Austin Cline and Edna Sheely. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clarence D. Lauer, who died on July 31, 2004; a sister, Anna Cline Joseph; and three brothers, John, Roger and K. Burnell Cline.
Katie was a member of the Hanover First Church of God and was a housewife and full-time mother. She will be long remembered for being a kind and considerate person who always put everyone’s needs before her own. She was a wonderful mother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include two sons, C. Daniel Lauer and his wife, Sandy, of Hanover, and John Lauer and his wife, Cindy, of York; two daughters, Sandy Crawford and her husband, Jack, and Sharon Weaver and her husband, Gregory, all of Hanover; ten grandchildren: Joshua, Jared and Jessica Weaver, Scott Crawford, Nicole Richter, Braydon and Katelyn Lauer, Angela George, and Wayne and Thomas Lauer; and seven great-grandchildren: Morgan, Lauren and Mason Richter, Benjamin Lauer, Kara and Kyla Crawford and Makenzie Weaver; and one step-great-grandson, Austin Blouch.
A service of Thanksgiving to God in loving memory of Katie will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with Pastor Jerry Shoap officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
