Earl Leroy Kehr, 86, husband of Rosella M. Craumer Kehr of Hanover, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born January 30, 1926 in Union Mills, MD, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Nina Rebert Kehr, and was also preceded in death by his twin sister, Pearl Groft, and a brother, Russell Kehr. He was a retired driver for R.H. Crawford, Inc. with more than 20 years of service and was a US Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Kehr was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his younger days, he took great pleasure in running Beagles in field trials.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Gary E. Kehr of Hanover, Larry E. Kehr and his wife, Sharon, of East Berlin, Wayne L. Kehr and his wife, Colleen, of Houston, TX, and Douglas A. Kehr and his wife, Tammy, of Holidaysburg; one brother, Burnell Kehr of Hanover; one sister, Gladys Wentz of Hanover; and two grandchildren, Daryl Scott Kehr of York and Amanda Kehr of Holidaysburg; and one great-grandson, Brandon Kehr of York.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. David L. DeLong officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14, 201 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or the VFW Post # 2506, 19 S. McKinley Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
