E. Pauline Sipling, 99, of York, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Normandie Ridge Health Care Center.
Born on Thursday, March 22, 1917 in Abbottstown, she was a daughter of the late Ervin C. and Jennie Leib Hamme. She was also preceded by her husband of 66 years, George J.C. Sipling, who died in 2003; a daughter, Ann Gouker; three brothers; and three sisters. She was a graduate of Eichelberger High School.
Pauline was a life member of the former Bethany United Church of Christ in York and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #348. At the age of 14, she was a caddy at the Hanover Country Club and later became an avid golfer, playing into her mid 80’s. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and for always being a lady – beautiful inside and out.
Survivors include her son, Philip J. Sipling, and his wife, Donna Buchmyer Sipling, of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Jonathan Sipling and his wife, Kristy Huffman, of Portland, OR, Eryn Sipling of Raleigh, and Dustin Gouker and his wife, Jenn, of Bend, OR; a son-in-law, Wayne Gouker of OR; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 10 am Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Normandie Ridge Chapel, 1700 Normandie Drive in York with The Rev. David Brinker officiating. Burial will be held privately at York Road Cemetery in Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Normandie Ridge Benevolent Fund, 1700 Normandie Drive, York, PA 17408.
