Visitation: The family will receive friends and share memories from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover. The burial will be held at the family's convenience.
Douglas A. Emlet, 50, of Hanover, husband of Linda Allison Emlet, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 28, 2009. Born in Hanover on July 31, 1958, he was the son of Nancy Sipling Emlet of McSherrystown and was preceded in death by his step-father, Samuel L. Jacoby. He was employed by Tim-Bar for 28 years and played guitar many years ago in the local band, The Magllicutty Bros. He was an avid fly-fisherman and loved the outdoors. In addition to his wife of 28 years, he is survived by his two sons, Wesley A. Emlet and his fiancé, Kimberly Urich of Baltimore and Tazren M. Emlet of Camp Hill, PA; two brothers, Dave Emlet and wife, Sue of Hanover and Donald Emlet and wife Kim of Abbottstown; a sister, Sharon Wagner and husband Ralph of Elizabethtown; mother-in-law Joanne Allison and five nephews.
Memorials: Memorial contributions may be made to St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
