Dorothy M. Strausbaugh

Dorothy M. Strausbaugh, 93, of New Oxford, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, January 16, 2023 at her home.

Born on Saturday, March 23, 1929 in York, she was a daughter of the late Emory A. and Mary C. Finefrock Altland. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert N. Strausbaugh, who died in 1991; three brothers, Glenn, David and Gordon Altland; a sister, Ethel Roman; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy R. Strausbaugh. In 1992, Dorothy retired from York Casket Company after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Spring Grove VFW Post # 5265 for many years. Dorothy loved being outdoors, completing word searches and crossword puzzles, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Ronald E. Strausbaugh of New Oxford; three grandchildren, Kelly Matthias and her husband, Dan, of Annville, Angela Topper and her husband, Bob, of Carlisle, and Darrick Strausbaugh and his wife, Brandy, of New Oxford; seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Layla and Seth Topper, Kelsionna, Tyler and Zachary Matthias, and Zander Shultz.

The funeral will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover with Pastor Rene Kinard officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Spring Grove. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
