Dorothy J. Reynolds, 98, of New Oxford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Crosskeys Village- The Brethren Home Community.
Born on Monday, November 10, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Howard C. and Effie A. Anderson Resh. She was also preceded in death by her son, Russell Reynolds; three brothers, Robert, Stewart, and Howard Resh; and four sisters, Jeanette Miller, Mildred Hafer, Lucille Resh, and Nadine Murphy. Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Eichelberger High School and was a member of Grace United Church of Christ. She worked most of her life as a seamstress, but also spent some time working in retail, as a CNA, a kitchen assistant, and was a previous assistant manager at the Hanover Theater. Dorothy enjoyed bingo, reading, crocheting, but most of all loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include Terry A. Bechtel and his wife, Georgianna, Sherry L. Lawrence ahd her husband, Steve; five grandchildren, Tisha Tate and her husband, Jason, Ashley Weaver and her husband, Heath, Jesse Lawrence and his wife, Jessica, Andy Lauer, and Jacob Reynolds Miller; six great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
A service will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with Patti A. Miller officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
