Doris Irene Barnitt Kemme, 72, of Hanover, was called home to Heaven on Saturday, May 1, 2010.
Born on May 23, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Violet Schick Barnitt. She had lived in Flemington, NJ until 2003 when she and her husband relocated to Hanover to be closer to her young grandchildren, the joy of her life.
Mrs. Kemme was employed early in life by Community Bank of Bergen County in Rochelle Park, NJ, but later found her fulfillment being a homemaker and volunteer. She is a member of the Baptistown Baptist Church in NJ, where she was active in teaching and missions, and was presently actively attending the West Side Baptist Church in Thomasville. She enjoyed watercolor painting and writing poetry. She was devout, loving, loyal to duty and patient in suffering.
She is survived by her beloved family: her husband of 44 years, Herbert R. Kemme; her daughter Gail E. Kollmar and her husband, Doug Kollmar; three grandchildren, David, Elizabeth and Julia Kollmar, all of Spring Grove and a sister, Barbara J. Fink of Hanover.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc, 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Kermit L. Minnick and The Rev. Richard Kollmar officiating. Burial will follow in St. Pauls (Dubs) Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
