Donald E. Mills, 88, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 11, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Born on Monday, August 27, 1934 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Austin A. Mills, Sr. and Iva Mae Edwards Mills. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia A. Mills, who died in 2016; a brother, Austin A. Mills, Jr.; and a sister, Patricia Hinkledey. A 1952 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Donald retired from PH Glatfelter after more than 40 years of service. He proudly served his country in the US Army, was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, the Hanover Elks BPOE Lodge #763, was a life member of the McSherrystown Home Association, and always enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include his three children, Vickie Werner and her husband, Steve, of Hanover, Ricci Mills and his wife, Lisa, of Houston, TX, and Stacia Frankowiak and her husband, Joe, of St. Augustine, FL; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ProMedica Hospice, 3417 Concord Road – Suite C, York, PA 17402.
