Donald Eugene Ensor, 71, of New Oxford entered into God’s eternal care Monday, February 7, 2011 at Gettysburg Hospital following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was the beloved husband of Mary Shaner Ensor.
Born November 30, 1939 in Hanover, he was the only child of Maurice and Catherine Fridinger Ensor. He was a 1957 graduate of Eichelberger High School and was a veteran of the US Army.
Mr. Ensor retired from Utz Quality Foods in 1995 after 15 years of service. He was a loyal member of the Hanover Home Association and enjoyed bowling with the Hanover Bowling League and playing in the softball industrial league.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 46 years, are his children, Sharon Ensor, Michael E. Ensor of Killeen, TX, April Ensor of Hanover, and Terry Ensor and his wife, Theresa, of New Oxford; two granddaughters, Tanya and Abiel Ensor; and two grandsons, Skylar and Brandon Ensor.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6-8:00 PM Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the funeral home with The Rev. Eric Crisp officiating. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens with military honors being rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary Ensor, c/o Members 1st Federal Credit Union, 1221 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331 to help defray the funeral expenses.
