Donald E. Boone, 78, of York, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Elmcroft of York Senior Living Center.

Born on Thursday, October 22, 1942 in Gettysburg, he was a son of the late Alvin M. Boone, Sr. and Pauline Jacoby Boone. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Beverly A. Boone, who died in 2016. A graduate of Hanover High School, he worked as an Export Supervisor at Harley-Davidson for many years and he enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Penn State football. He was a member of the Hanover Elks Lodge BPOE #763 and the McSherrystown Loyal Order of Moose #720.

Survivors include two children, Troy D. Boone and his wife, Maryjane, and Kimberly A. Billet and her husband, Michael; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Abigail, Emma, Nathan, Teresa, Samuel, Ashley, and James; two great-grandchildren, Miles and Elias; and a brother, Alvin M. Boone, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, with Certified Celebrant Kasie J. Morris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in Rest Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 205 Grandview Ave #304, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
