Devonne “Pete” Helen Theresa Emerson, 72, of Dover, loving wife of Charles “Chuck” E. Emerson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on Friday, June 23, 1944 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Devonne Hollingshed Rzepkowski. She was also preceded in death by four sisters; a step-daughter, Grace Emerson; and her beloved dog, Jesse.
Devonne was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had worked as a custodian at The Holiday Inn on Lolks Road in Manchester, PA until her retirement. She enjoyed many hobbies which included gardening, going to yard sales, collecting dolls, and gambling in Atlantic City with Chuck.
In addition to her husband of almost 20 years, survivors include three daughters, Sherri Poff and her companion, Ken, Jr., Bonnie Charron and her husband, John, and Sandra Stoner Diehl; one son, Harry “Dink” Riggin and his wife, Sherry; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two step-children, Joseph and Christina Emerson; two brothers; one loving dog, Angel; and three special friends, Lori, Rachel, and Lori.
No services are planned at this time.
