Delores Marie Alwine, 87, of Hanover, beloved wife of Larry R. Alwine, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, May 3, 2024 at her home.
Born on Sunday, September 20, 1936 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Florence Toot. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ryon; a granddaughter, Nicole Ryon; a brother, “June” Toot; and her two sisters, Evelyn Pennington and Gladys Huff. Delores enjoyed her career as a florist, having worked for Cremer and Shearer’s Florists in Hanover. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church with her husband, and enjoyed ceramics and loved accompanying her family on camping, boating, fishing and crabbing trips.
Surviving, in addition to, Larry, her husband of 58 years, are three children, Andy R. Alwine and his wife, Diane, of McSherrystown, Connie M. Nonemaker and her husband, Joel, of Spring Grove, and Steve W. Alwine and his wife, Emily, of Ephrata; eleven grandchildren, Crystal Gayman, Craigie, Jenny and Tyler Ryon, Dominic, Brandon and Lamar Alwine, Mikaela Gregory, Wendy Bailey, Rob Conrad, and Lauren Alwine; and 14 great-grandchildren, Carter, Wyatt and Benjamin Gayman, Kenyon, Hudson and Wesley Alwine, Devin and Alexis Conrad, Brayden Bailey, Bailey Lynn Ryon, Mason Patrick Ryon, Ava Ryon, Kendall Johnson and Ryan Manley.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover with The Rev. Mr. Thomas M. Aumen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
