Deanna Z. Adams, 85, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.
Born on Thursday, October 28, 1937 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Dean C. Zartman, Sr. and Marie Rosalie Brady Zartman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald L. Adams, who died in 2000; a daughter Freida Adams; a sister, Phyllis Zartman; a brother, Dean Zartman, Jr.; a grandson, Chad Livelsberger; and a nephew, Dean Zartman, III. In 1994, Deanna retired from the US Postal Service in Hanover after 26 years of dedicated service and was a long time member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, completing jigsaw puzzles and crocheting. Deanna was extremely devoted to her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her eight children, Cynthia Livelsberger and her husband, Michael, Donna Hoke and her husband, Joseph, Anna Moore, all of Hanover, Brad Adams and his wife, Amy, of East Berlin, Ellen Wentz and her husband, Leroy, of Purlear, NC, Geri Rafferty and her husband, John, of Woodlands, TX, Bart “Matt” Adams and his husband, Tony, of York; and Ben Adams and his wife, Rosie, of Ocala, FL; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Zartman and his wife, Sara, and Samuel Zartman, all of Hanover; a sister, Janice Baugher and her husband, Reginald, of Glenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at a viewing from 4 to 6:00 PM Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover. Following cremation, a memorial mass will be said at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Vincent dePaul Church, 220 Third Street in Hanover by The Rev. Michael P. Reid, II. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
