Dean T. Geiman, 89, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born July 6, 1923 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Burley T. and Maude Hilker Geiman, and was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Geiman. He was a 1942 graduate of Eichelberger High School, served with the US Army, and was a former employee of the Naval Ordnance Plant in York, York Safe & Lock, and Alloy Rods. Mr. Geiman was a lifetime member of the Hanover Community Church, the former Otterbein United Brethren Church. In 2006, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his devotion and faithful service to the church.
Survivors include a brother, Robert L. Geiman and his wife, Treva; a sister, Gladys L. McCartney, all of Hanover; a sister-in-law, Helga Geiman of Thomasville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Friday, September 14, 2012 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Scott A. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
