David L. Baral, 63, of Spring Grove, loving husband of Deborah Kraft Baral, died peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Thursday, October 20, 2016 following a courageous three year battle with cancer.
Born on Tuesday, September 8, 1953 in Hanover, he was a son of Philip Baral of New Oxford and the late Doris Kuntz Baral. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Grace Baral and a niece, Lori Nabors.
He attended New Oxford High School and was employed by Magnesita Refractories Co. for almost 30 years before his retirement in 2008. He later worked for PennDOT as a seasonal welder, a position he enjoyed very much. He was a member of Hanover Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #1406 and the Hanover Moose Lodge 227. Extremely gifted with his hands, he was a skilled woodworker. He, along with his family, built a cabin in Clinton County where they enjoyed many special times together. He restored a 1940 Ford Coupe, which caught the eye of all who saw its progress. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and gardening.
In addition to his wife of 37 years and his father, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey David Baral and his wife, Julie of Spring Grove; two daughters, Cynthia Denise Crimmel and her husband, Brian, of Spring Grove and Rebecca Grace Baral of York; six grandchildren, Kirsten, Collin and Liam Baral, Harper and Shiloh Crimmel and Elaina Baral; three brothers, Joseph Baral and his wife, Grace, Kenneth Baral and his wife, Karen and John Baral and his wife, Agnes, all of New Oxford; two sisters, Linda Goad and her husband, Edward of Dover and Carol Hunt of Gettysburg and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 10 am Tuesday at New Hope Faith Community Church, 33 Sunday Drive, Hanover with the Rev. Timothy Kielley officiating. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Monday evening at the church from 6 pm to 8 pm.
