Dale F. Renaut, 63, of Abbottstown, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at M. S. Hershey Medical Center following a battle with leukemia.
Born on February 5, 1951 in Hanover, he was a son of Regina Hertz Renaut of Hanover and the late Francis B. Renaut.
A 1969 graduate of Delone Catholic High School and a 1971 graduate of Industrial Management Institute in Reading, he was employed as an engineer with Tooling Dynamics for over 23 years. He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard for many years and was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
His family was the focus of life; dedicating his time and love to every member of his family. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He came from a long history of artisans who were skilled in carpentry and he carried on this family trait. He collected antiques but also enjoyed refinishing them as well. He had a memory that was profound and a heart that was full.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, David Renaut and his wife, Donna of Abbottstown; two sisters, Patricia L. Renaut and Joanne E. Small, both of Hanover; two nephews, Justin and Brian Small; three nieces, Allison Lewis and her husband, JC, and Kristin and Megan Renaut; and a great-niece, Emma Lewis.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with The Rev. Timothy D. Marcoe serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Brian and Justin Small, JC Lewis, Robert Kolb, Dennis Grove, Bob Updike serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, October 17, 2014 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc. 311 Broadway, Hanover with a prayer service being held at 8 pm. They will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 West Canal Road, Abbottstown, PA 17301 or to THON, Attn: Finance, 210 HUB, University Park, PA 16802 which benefits the Four Diamonds Fund for Kids at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
