Services: The funeral will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 27, 2009 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York Street, Hanover with The Rev. Dr. Karin Stork-Whitson officiating. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: The viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm Sunday evening at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover.
Dale G. Bair, 73, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 while surrounded by his family at his daughter’s residence in Shippensburg. He was the loving husband of Naomi Helen Koontz Bair.Born on October 20, 1935 to the late Luther Clayton and Beatrice Anna Marie Warner Bair, he was a native and lifelong resident of Hanover. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Wentz and Audrey Hull; two brothers, Glenn and Clayton Bair; and a grandson Michael E. Bair. He was a 1954 graduate of Eichelberger High School.He spent his early years living and working on the family farm until 1965. He later spent 22 years with Black and Decker and 15 years with W.L. Sterner, from which he retired. A lifemember of Trinity United Church of Christ, he started teaching Sunday School at the age of 16. He would spend 43 years in the Sunday School ministry of the church, serving as teacher, secretary and superintendant. He also served as Cubmaster for Boy Scout Pack 117 and enjoyed bowling.In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by his five children, Brenda Smith and her husband Richard, Timothy Bair and his wife Terri, Edward Bair and his wife Jana-Lee, Dean Bair and his wife Sarah, and Connie Mae Mescher and her husband David; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Noel and Sara Sanner; a brother, David Bair and his wife, Dianne Harper and many nieces and nephews.


Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Homecare and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
