William H. Taulbee, 83, of Hanover, beloved husband of Willodene Taulbee, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD .
Born on March 12, 1929 in Mary, KY, he was one of twelve children born to Luther M. and Leona F. Lawson Taulbee. He was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters as well as a daughter, Brenda Marie Taulbee and a granddaughter, Maggie Elizabeth Taulbee.
He retired from the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander, having served for 23 years. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his retirement, he worked for Rest Haven Cemetery. Active in the church, he was a deacon in the Baptist Church for twenty years and taught Sunday School for many years and currently held his membership at Crosswind Church of God in Westminster.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by their children, Darlene K. McClenny and her husband, Donald of UT, Stanley L. Taulbee and his wife, Tricia of MO and William A. Taulbee and his wife, Joyce of Westminster; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ada Ruth Mackey and her husband, Doug of Lexington, KY and Bonnie Marcopolus of Virginia and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. David Sulcer officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings from 5 to 7 pm Thursday and Friday evenings at the funeral home.
