Christopher A. James, 52, of Hanover, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
Born on Sunday, January 13, 1963 in Hanover, he was the son of Patricia A. Good James of Hanover and the late Robert W. “Jess” James. He was a 1981 graduate of Hanover High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during Desert Storm/Shield. He worked for many years in the Equipment Rental industry and most recently had been employed with the P.H. Glatfelter Co. for nearly eight years.
Christopher enjoyed his Harley and often attended motorcycle events, including those in Gettysburg, Myrtle Beach, SC and Sturgis, SD. One whose laugh was contagious, he loved the spotlight and kept people smiling and entertained. One with many passions, he enjoyed the history of the Civil War and the calmness of the tide at Ocean City, NJ.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children, who were the light of his life, Kyle James of Windermere, FL, Shelby James of Ft. Collins, CO and Emily James of Sykesville , MD; five brothers, Barry James of Burbank, CA, Robert James II and his wife, Janice of Bonneauville, Tim James and his wife, Cathy of Hanover, Jay James of Hanover and Neal James (his twin) and his wife, Vickie of Hanover ; three sisters, Sue James Baadte and her husband, Don of East Berlin, Leslie James Wendler and her husband, Eric of Mt. Airy, MD and Amy James Warehime and her husband, Jeff of Hanover; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Drew Derreth officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:30 pm until the time of the service. Military rites will be rendered by Hanover Veterans Honor Guard.
