Christine P. Buchen
Christine P. Buchen, 74, loving wife of Guy G. Buchen of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Hanover Hospital.
Born June 15, 1937 in Oxford, she was a daughter of the late Willis H. and Helen Mae Sipe Snyder and was reared by her great-aunt and uncle, Amanda E. and Edward H. Krug. She was a 1956 graduate of Hanover Senior High School.
Christine was employed at the Child Development Center in Hanover for 11 years and was a member of St. David’s United Church of Christ. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing cards and reading mystery books.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 55 years, are three children, Brenda Lee Hoffnagle and her husband, David, of Dover, PA, Kenneth L. Buchen and his wife, Ellen, of Hanover, and Joan M. Buchen of Dover; one sister, Jean Feeser; three brothers, Edward Krug of Hanover, and Maurice and Earl Krug, both of New Oxford; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Bankert, and a brother, Daniel Krug.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
