Cheryl Lee Hogue Parry, 75, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born on Friday, April 8, 1949 in Chattahoochee, FL, she was the daughter of the late Betty Lee Hogue. She was also preceded in death by her companion of 45 years, Jimmy C. Wildasin, who died in 2018. Cheryl was a member of Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD and a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Hanover where she enjoyed singing in the choir, serving as a lector, and volunteering for Dial-A-Prayer. She volunteered for Homewood where she dictated Dicken’s Christmas Carol on tape for the residents. Her true passion was music. A talented singer, guitar player, and songwriter, Cheryl was a member of the American Federation of Musicians and the lead singer of the Country Cavaliers. She enjoyed many festivals and jam sessions with fellow musicians. She was an avid bowler at the Hanover Bowling Center, where she was a member of the Red Hot Bowlers and competed on state levels. She loved theatre, playing bingo, reading Agatha Christie novels, watching classic movies, and writing music and poetry.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin L. (Myers) Rieger and her husband, Joel, of Roswell, GA; stepdaughters, Connie J. Long and her companion, Bob Robey, Tina M. Miller and her companion, Fabian Brady, Caroline A. Stough and her companion, Art Brady, of Hanover; and three granddaughters, Abigail, Elizabeth and Isabella Rieger.
The burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held at Bay City Restaurant on Saturday, August 24th from 12:00-4:00 pm. A memorial service with the Rev. Dawn Glatfelter officiating starts at 1:30pm. Light refreshments provided.
