Charlotte M. “Shots” Smith, 69, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, April 16, 2018 at York Hospital.
Born on Sunday, August 15, 1948 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Alfred B. and Helen M. Brown Kuhn. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Jarrett Black; five brothers, Raymond B. Kuhn, Verley K. Kuhn, James V. “Barney” Kuhn, Michael A. Kuhn, and Alfred P. Kuhn; and two sisters, Nancy Kuhn and Helena K. Reck.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul Church, Charlotte enjoyed crossword and fill in the blank puzzles. She took great pleasure in going camping and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Helen P. Shaffer and her husband, John, of Spring City, PA, Delia C. Black of Hanover, Jenny R. Doyle and her husband, Neal, of Spring Grove, and Samuel K. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Megan Koblitz-Smith, of McSherrystown; four grandchildren, Angelique J. and Charles A. Shaffer, Sabin L. Smith, and Raphael E. Black; four brothers, Patrick H. Kuhn and his wife, Connie, of McSherrystown, Francis D. Kuhn and his wife, Dawn, of East Berlin, William C. Kuhn and his wife, Margaret, and Daniel E. Kuhn and his wife Sandy, all of Hanover; eight sisters, Gladys A. Myers, Shirley A. Kuhn, Rosalie M. Santana, and Emma J. Kuhn, all of Hanover, Loretta A. Weaver of Gettysburg, Diane M. Hoffman her husband, Hugh, of McSherrystown, Sharon M. Kuhn, and Carlin Thomas and her husband, Dale, all of Littlestown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA with The Rev. Michael P. Reid II serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with a rosary being recited at 8pm.
