A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at St. Paul’s Dubs Lutheran Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Kellison, Dave Kellison, Jim Kellison, Jason Harrison, Ted Zimmerman, Bob Huntzinger, Charles Boyer, Thomas Wheeler and Paul Wheeler. Military rites will be conducted by the Allied Veterans Honor Guard.


Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday evening at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover.
Charles “Whitey” Edward Wheeler, 91, of Hanover passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at Hanover Hall following a short illness.Born in Bridgewater, VA to the late Martin and Alice Curry Wheeler, he had lived in Hanover for the past 22 years. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Randy Kellison and five sisters and three brothers. He enjoyed his career training race horses and in 1947, he succeeded in seeing “Aylesbury”, a horse he trained, win at Charles Town, WV. He served in the United States Army during World War II, saw action during the Battle of the Bulge and was a Purple Heart recipient.Survivors include his longtime love of 22 years, his wife, Shirley Kellison Wheeler; four stepsons, Mike Kellison of Harrisburg, James Kellison of Dillsburg, David Kellison of Hanover and Roy Kellison of Florida; three granddaughters; two brothers, Martin Wheeler and Andrew Wheeler, both of Hanover; one sister, Betty Lou Spangler of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
