Charles W. Test

Charles W. Test, Jr., 86, beloved husband of Ingeborg G. McCusker Test of Hanover, passed away peacefully Friday, December 28, 2012 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.



Born October 13, 1926 in York, he was a son of the late Charles W. Test, Sr. and Mary Barnes Test and was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Test. He was a graduate of York High School and served with the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War.



In 1954, he founded C.W. Test Builder, Inc. and operated it until his retirement in 1998. He dedicated his professional career to producing the finest quality residential and commercial construction. A two term President of the York County Builders Association and member of its Board of Directors for many years, Mr. Test was also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Home Builders. He served on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Hanover from 1973 to 1998, and was a Past President and member of the Hanover Country Club. He was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Hanover VFW Post # 2506, Hanover Elks BPOE #763, and the Arcadian Social Club.



In addition to his wife of 35 years, he is survived by two sons, Randy B. Test and his wife, Martha, of New Oxford, and Bradley A. Test and his wife, Anne, of Hanover; three grandsons, Adam Test and his wife, Reshelle, and Justin and Matthew Test; a sister, Dolly Hensel and her husband, Bill, of York; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Test, also of York.



A service in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover with The Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with military rites being rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.



The family will receive friends 9-10:45 am Wednesday at the church.
