Charles W. Conkling, 59, of Hanover, husband of Patricia Conkling, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at his home.
Born on Saturday, May 4, 1963 in Baltimore, he was a son of Daniel Conkling (Nancy) of Pasadena, MD and Verne Brown (Gus) of Barefoot Bay, FL. Charles served his country through his employment with the Department of Defense, a job he cherished for several decades. A member of the Christian faith, he was devoted to his community and was always available to help others in need. Charles supported the community working in food pantries, supporting projects to fix-up neighboring homes, and visiting elderly church members in need of companionship. Charles enjoyed being outdoors, vacationing, fishing, boating, hunting, and bird watching.
In addition to his wife of 35 years, parents and step-parents, he is survived by his children, Paul Conkling (Bryana), Rebecca Stephey (Matt), and Emily Conkling; three brothers, Bryan Conkling (Teresa), Timothy Conkling (Jen), and Jamie Myers (Kim); two sisters, Brittany Harris (Jason) and Katelyn Blumenthal (Matt); and several nieces and nephews.
A private service is planned.
