Carroll E. Frock, Jr., 84, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his home.
Born on Tuesday, August 13, 1929 in Emmitsburg, MD., he was a son of the late Carroll E. Frock, Sr. and Daisy Glacken Frock. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Marie Lawrence; a great-grandson, Gabriel Robert Mummert; and a brother, Richard H. Frock.
A 1946 graduate of Emmitsburg High School, he attended Gettysburg College. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Parish and was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Emmitsburg Kiwanis Club and was a charter member of the Emmitsburg Junior Chamber of Commerce. An avid baseball fan, he played as a young man in the Penn-Mar, South Penn and Blue Ridge Summit Summer Leagues. He loved traveling, hunting, fishing, golf and photography.
In 1992, he retired after 25 years of service with Hanover and Clarks Shoe Company where he was instrumental in the consolidation of the storage and shipping facilities into the Elm Avenue facility. Although he was not a veteran himself, Mr. Frock was very proud that all five of his sons, a grandson and a granddaughter have served or are currently serving with the US armed forces.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Frock; seven children, Carolyn Louise Kamp and her husband Byron, Michael Richard Frock and his wife Holly L. Dietor-Frock, Anthony F. Frock, James Carroll Frock and his wife Gemma, Theresa Grace Henry and her husband David, John Charles Frock and his wife Jennifer, and David Joseph Frock and his wife Dawn; 16 grandchildren, Matthew Kamp and his wife Beth, Benjamin A. Kamp, D.O. and his wife Emily, Joshua A. Kamp and his wife Betsy Garman, Melissa Joan Frock, Evan M. Frock, Antonia Marie Frock, Jennifer Lynn Zinn and her husband Jeffrey, Mark Lawrence and his fiancé Hope VonSas, Rachel Henry and her husband Chris Mummert, Ryan Henry and his wife Stephanie, Sean Henry and his fiancé Lauren Leathers, Holly Marie Schlotfeldt and her husband Roemen, Joseph Russell Frock, Casey Jordan Frock, Abbigale Elizabeth Frock, and Ethan Elisha Frock; eleven great-grandchildren, Jeremy M. and William Alexander Kamp, Andrew Michael Alexander Kamp, Catherine Margaret Ana Kamp, Andrew Zeigler, Jacklyn Renee White, Jillian Janet Zinn, Avery William Mummert, Jackson Ryan Henry, Max Anthony Henry, and Evangelina Marie Henry; two step-grandchildren, Cassandra and Seth Plunkett; four step-great-grandchildren, Hannah Plunkett,
Braley Plunkett, Alexandria Cupp and Wyatt Gibson; a niece, Tamera J. Frock Herrell and her husband Phillip; and a former son-in-law, Steven Lawrence and his wife, Cyndi.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover . A memorial service will follow at 8:00 pm at the funeral home, with his daughter-in-law, Holly L. Dietor-Frock officiating. Burial will be private in St. Vincent’s Cemetery.

The family asks that those attending dress casual and comfortable. They also wish to acknowledge Dr. Thomas C. Keller and staff for their excellent care, Laslow’s Pharmacy for their advice and guidance, Compassionate Care Hospice and Preferred HealthStaff of Hanover for their exceptional and attentive care during Carroll’s final weeks.
