Carmen D. Hoke, 73, loving wife of William G. Hoke of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Hanover Hospital.

Born October 17, 1938 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late George D. Fink and Lucille Unger Fink Shanholtz, and was also preceded in death by her brother, George D. “Sonny” Fink. She was of the Lutheran faith. Carmen was a former member of the Hanover Knights of Columbus #871 Ladies Auxiliary and the Hanover chapter of the AARP. She enjoyed sewing and adored her pet Schnauzer, “Abby”.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 55 years, is a son, Timothy W. Hoke of Palmyra; three daughters, Cindy J. Wyatt and her husband, Hal, of Abbottstown, Lori A. Hoke, and Amy L. Hoke, both of York; three grandchildren, Kristy M. Reese-Zelei of Camp Hill, Thomas J. “TJ” Reese of Colorado, and Drew P. Carbaugh of Abbottstown; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia P. Zelei and Sofia J. Zelei, both of Camp Hill.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, December 19, 2011 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Eric B. Stenman, Chaplain of Hanover Hospital, officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tres Sapp, Hal Wyatt, James Zelei, Zack Brantner, Drew Carbaugh and Jack Mehling.

The family will receive friends 6-8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17402 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
