Carl F. Parker

Carl F. “Bugs” Parker, Jr., 80, of Glenville, husband of Dolores C. Lee Parker, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, October 6, 2013 surrounded by his family at his home following a period of declining health.



Born on August 13, 1933 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Carl F. Parker, Sr. and Stella Selvoski Parker. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rochelle Elizabeth Bushey; a sister, Constance Parker Youngcourt; two brothers, Charles and Howard Parker and his step-mother, Christine Parker.



A veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War, he continued his service with the Air National Guard in Maryland for over 18 years. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows Point, MD for many years before his retirement in 1999.



In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by seven children; C. Frank Parker, III and his wife, Dawn of Sparks, MD, David W. Parker of Jacobus, Donna L. Stinebaugh and her husband, Dan of Philadelphia, Caryn R. Bushey and her husband, Shelby of Dover, Dorothy A. Lutz and her husband, Tim of Columbus, OH, Curtis W. Parker and his wife, Julie of Roseau, MN and Crystal E. Newcomer and her husband, Larry of Jacobus; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a step-brother, Charles “Reds” Drain of Edgemere, MD and many nieces and nephews.



The funeral will be held 12 pm Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2100 Hollywood Drive, York with President Marty Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Cemetery with military graveside rites being rendered.



The family will receive friends at a viewing from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday evening at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover and also one hour prior to the service at the church.



The family would like to thank the VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove Hospice for their service and dedication to all of them during this time. They also request that memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
