Burnell L. Millheim, 99, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, January 2, 2018 at The Village at Utz Terrace.
Born on Thursday, February 28, 1918 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Delphis V. and Bessie Mae Resh Millheim. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Geraldine E. Millheim, who died in 2010; a son, Ronald Burnell Millheim; and four brothers, Wilbert, Charles, Millard and Stewart Millheim; and a sister, Dorothy Stauffer.
Burnell was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and retired from ESAB in 1986 where he had worked for more than 20 years. He was a US Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and was a member of the former China-Burma-India Veterans Association in Carlisle.
Survivors include a son, Edwin L. Millheim and his wife, Mary, and a daughter, Darla Staub all of Hanover; a sister, Catherine Stull of Gettysburg; four grandchildren, Scott Millheim and his wife, Eunyoung, Marc Millheim, Roy Lawyer, Jr. and his wife, Tamara, and Dena Lawyer; and four great-grandchildren, David, Charles, Autumn and Robbie.
A funeral will be held at 11 am Friday, January 5, 2018 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
