Bryson L. Ruff, 88, of Hanover, husband of Georgine A. Ruff, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born Tuesday, May 27, 1924 in Schuylkill Haven, he was a son of the late Alexander A. and Bessie C. Weiser Ruff. He is also preceded in death by two brothers; Robert and Edgar Ruff. He graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School in 1942 and received his Bachelor’s degree in Government and Foreign Affairs from George Washington University in 1950. Bryson worked for the Central Intelligence Agency until retiring in 1980 after 29 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked for Telecommunication Techniques Corporation for 8 years. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a member of Oakdale Emory United Methodist Church, Olney, MD and American Legion Post #68, Sandy Spring, MD. He was a fan of many sports and was especially fond of the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to his loving wife of 63 years, he is survived by two sons, Gregory B. Ruff and his wife, Helen, of Germantown, MD, and Gordon R. Ruff and his wife, Lisa, of Randallstown, MD; a granddaughter, Alyssa Ruff of Randallstown; and two brothers, George Ruff of State College, and James Ruff of Chester, NJ.
A graveside service will be held Monday, April 15, 2013 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover with The Rev. Joel B. Hummel and The Rev. Richard E. Benner officiating. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am Monday at the Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc, 311 Broadway, Hanover.
