Brooklyn Alyssa Cross

Brooklyn A. Cross, 8, of Gettysburg and New Oxford, received her angel wings Friday, December 3, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Born April 23, 2002 in York, she was a daughter of Heath Cross of New Oxford and Goldie Cross of Gettysburg. She attended New Oxford Elementary School.

Having a strong faith in God, she was a member of Hanover First Church of God and the First Baptist Church in Gettysburg. Brooklyn was a thoughtful, loving and giving person who loved animals, making crafts for others, and also enjoyed making people laugh with her quick sense of humor.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her brother, Xavier Cross and two sisters, Kylee and Angela Cross, all of the home; her paternal grandparents, Charles and Paula Cross of Littlestown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Alvin Pinda and Mildred Hall.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover with Pastors Jerry Shoap and Carl Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held 5-8:00 PM Wednesday at Hanover First Church of God and 10-11:00 AM Thursday before the service at the church.
