Brayden Lee Gibbons, 11 month old son of Joseph Gibbons and Ashley Miles of Hanover, passed away on April 27, 2014 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by his family following a battle with brain cancer.
Born on May 1, 2013 in Hanover, he was a happy child who loved to laugh, clap his hands and give raspberries. He always had a smile on his face and was fiercely independent and strong. He loved to eat Cheerios and applesauce and would growl with his Sully toy and stop whatever he was doing when he heard SpongeBob on the television. His soft, gentle snuggles will never be forgotten and “he left us a lot of very happy memories.”
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Sahvanna Miles of the home; maternal grandmother, Terri Miles of Hanover; paternal grandparents, Tina Gibbons and Doug Pate of New Oxford; maternal great-grandparents, Deanna and Joseph Graleski of Shrewsbury; paternal great-grandmothers, Gloria Weant of Littlestown and Judy Worley of Hanover; three aunts, Lexi Miles of Hanover, Danielle Sirk of Baltimore, MD and Amber Gibbons of Fairfield and an extended family of great aunts and an uncle and their families. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Randy Worley and paternal great-grandfather, Larry Worley.
The funeral will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Hanover First Church of God, Fairview Drive, Hanover with Pastors Dan Thomas and James Gould officiating. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Wednesday evening at the church from 6 to 8 pm. The family requests that happy, spring attire be worn at all services to celebrate his life.
