Beverly C. Nawaz

Beverly C. Grubb Nawaz, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at home in Hanover, PA.

Born on Sunday, October 22, 1939 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles N. and Roy “Faye” Hall Grubb. A 1957 graduate of Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Beverly most notably worked at Behnke Nurseries in Beltsville, MD and R.B. Paving of Dayton, MD until her retirement. She was a former member of Marvin Memorial United Methodist Church in Silver Spring. One of Beverly’s passions was strolling along the boardwalk in Ocean City, MD and playing her favorite midway game of skeeball. Beverly’s childhood memories include the clear blue waters of the gulf coast in Bradenton Beach, FL and Sunday drives with her family. She also loved dining out with family and friends.

Survivors include her four children, Ronald H. “Ronnie” Brookman and his wife, Julie, of Dayton, MD, Kelly L. Bollinger and her husband, Bryan, of Hanover, PA, Dawn M. McCullar and her husband, Flint, of Gainesville, GA, and Nasreen “Sheri” Nawaz of Hanover, PA; eight grandchildren, Christopher R.,Adam C., Shaughn F. Brookman, Lauren J. Hammett and her husband, Mike, Rebecca L. and Sarah E. Bollinger, Harley R. and Mason J. McCullar; one great-grandson, Andrew C. Hammett; three siblings, Dr. Charles “Alan” Grubb, Judith Sentelle, and Linda Zagorac; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved feline companion, Ringo.

She will be long remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

There will be a private time of reflection for immediate family and a celebration of life service held at a later date.
