Beverly Sterner Marchio, 75, of Hanover, died Sunday, January 24, 2016, in the York Hospital.
Born in Hanover on Sunday, December 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Gerald W. and June Ecker Sterner. She was the wife of Robert L.Marchio, to whom she was married for 55 years.
Beverly was a 1958 graduate of the Eichelberger Senior High School, Hanover. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Hanover, where she served on various committees and a term on the church consistory, sang in the Chancel Choir and enjoyed knitting with EUCC’s Compassionate Crafters. Along with knitting, she enjoyed watercolor painting and was a member of the York Art Association. At one time she taught classes in ceramics. She loved spending time with friends and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three children, Lizabeth Mummert and her husband, Michael, of Frederick, Md., Robert L. Marchio Jr. of Shawnee, KS and Laura Eisenhart and her husband, Jared, of Hanover; six grandchildren, Collin Mummert of Raleigh, N.C.; Eliza Mummert of Frederick, Kelsie, Evan and Kendall Marchio all of Shawnee, KS, and Aaron Eisenhart of Hanover; and a brother, Gerald W. Sterner Jr. of Hanover.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Emmanuel United Church with The Rev. Uble M. Frost officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:45 to 10:45 am Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Emmanuel UCC Music Program, 124 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331.
