Betty “Winnie” Shorb, 94, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on Wednesday, November 27, 1929 in New Oxford, she was a daughter of the late David and Rose Wildasin Sebright. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Earl R. Shorb; grandson, Michael Shorb; and nine siblings, Merle and Kermis Sebright, Emma Bair, Thelma Sanders, Charles and Earl Sebright, June McIlwee, Sylvia Laughman, and Fred Sebright. Betty was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and owned and operated Touch of Antiquity, Antiques of Tomorrow, and Hotel Oxford with her husband.
Survivors include her two sons, Gregory Shorb and his wife, Diane, and Scott Shorb and his wife, Kim; three grandchildren, Ryan Shorb, Randall Shorb and his wife, Amanda, and Kristen Shorb; two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Ayden Shorb; four siblings, Carlyn Sebright, Junior Sebright, Shirley Byers, and Nancy Prevedelli; her special friend of 18 years, Merle Whisler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, per Winnie’s wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
