Betty E. Markle, 84, of Hanover, wife of Donald H. Markle, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Genesis Gettysburg Center.

Born on May 13, 1928 in Abbottstown, she was a daughter of the late Glenn C. and Beatrice Rodgers Noel. She was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Markle and her stepmother, Ruth Harvey. She attended New Oxford High School and was a member of Harvest Time Temple.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by two sons, Terry L. Markle, and his wife, Dorothy, of York and Roger W. Markle and his wife, Novella, of New Oxford; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosalie Blouse of Hanover; a brother, Carroll K. Noel of Renova; a half-brother, Robert H. Noel; three half-sisters, Nancy L. Warren, Kathryn J. Wilhelm, all of Hanover and Shirley M. Prince of York; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 10 am Friday, March 1, 2013 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 6-8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
