BETTY JANE BAKER,74, of Hanover, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 6, 2007. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Baker to whom she was married over 54 years when he died on November 1, 2005. The daughter of the late Clair C. and Elsie Laughman Stair, Mrs. Baker was born on March 11, 1932 in Berwick Township, Adams County. A Service of Remembrance will be held 11:00am Friday at Grace United Church of Christ, 100 Fourth Street, Hanover, where she was a faithful member for many years. Her viewing will be Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover. She will be laid to rest in Rest Haven Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard will officiate at the services for Mrs. Baker. She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her daughters Priscilla Ann Wolff and husband Benton, Hope Elizabeth Sanders and husband Thomas all of Hanover and the late Charlene Marie Baker who died on August 22, 1999. She was very special sister to Peggy Ann Markel of New Oxford. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Sanders, Benton Wolff, Charles Markel, Harold Sanders, Robert Bennetch and Jesse Lawrence.
