Beatrice E. Garvick

On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Beatrice Elizabeth Garvick, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 in Durham, North Carolina.

Bea was born on October 3, 1928 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and was a lifelong resident of Hanover. She was the eldest daughter of the late Earl R. D. and Clara E. (Golden) Weaver.

Bea’s life was filled with love and laughter. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, where she served joyfully on the choir for many years and rarely missed game day with the ladies. She loved to play BINGO, was a Scrabble master, and enjoyed watching game shows. When she wasn’t playing games or spending time with family and friends, Bea could be found reading a good book.

Bea is survived by five children, Kathy (Carl) Wolfe, of East Berlin, Glenda Robinson of Hanover, Barb (Bruce) Lobach, of Franklinton, North Carolina, Edward (Sheryl) Garvick, of Spring Grove, and Kris (Brad) Long, of Talking Rock, Georgia. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jamie (David) Campagna, Andy (Jenny) Robinson, Casey (Eric) Vitrano, Eric (Angie) Lobach, Matthew Robinson, Carrie (Brian) Riley, Jonathan Garvick, Sara (Derrick) Snyder, Chelsea (Eric) Coleman, and Megan (Zachary) Houle. Altogether, Bea is survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six siblings, Mary, Janet, Loretta, Samuel, Robert, and Gladys.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Beatrice Elizabeth Garvick will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 3 o’clock p.m. at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331 with The Rev. Kenneth D. Peterkin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
