Bea Buckingham

Bea Buckingham, 70, of Hanover, beloved wife of Jay Buckingham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024 with her loving husband by her side.

Born on Friday, March 13, 1953 in New Jersey, she was a daughter of Everett and June Mann. Bea obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Lycoming College, her teaching certificate from Mansfield University, and her Master’s degree from Shippensburg University. She was a special education teacher for many years until she became a mother and retired as a retail manager. Bea enjoyed reading and absolutely loved her children.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 50 years, are her four sons, Corey, Evan, Skylar, and Keegan Buckingham; chosen daughter, Anne Peiffer; grandson, Sebastian Nieves; and sister, Susan Wolverton.

Following Cremation, a gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 starting at 2 p.m. at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. The family is requesting casual and comfortable clothing be worn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillman Cancer Center, UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232, or to a cancer research of the donor’s choosing.
