Barry G. Stauffer

Barry G. Stauffer, 80, of Hanover, husband of Dona L. Stauffer, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2023 at UPMC Memorial.

Born on Friday, November 27, 1942 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Samuel G. Stauffer and Mary A. Wagner Stauffer Wentz. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Beryl D. Stauffer. A 1960 graduate of Eichelberger High School, he later received his Associate’s Degree from Penn State York in engineering. Barry served with the US Air Force, where he played woodwind instruments in the Air Force Academy Band. He retired from SKF USA, Inc. after 24 years of service. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on York Street, and as he loved music, was a lifetime member of the Lyric Band of Hanover. Barry was also an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, survivors include a daughter, Amy L. Lebo of Abbottstown; and two nieces, Susan L. Stauffer of Hanover and Sharon L. (Leigh) Mazion of Edina, MN.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Cynthia Baxter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held later in the York Road Cemetery.
