Visitation: The family will receive friends Monday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the Mass.
BARBARA A.G. LOOKENBILL SMITH, 63, of Hanover, died Thursday evening June 21, 2007 at her home. She was the loving fiancee of Jude Ginter. Born on April 27, 1944 in Hanover, she was the daughter of Lewis and Grace Feeser Lookenbill. Ms. Smith graduated with the Class of '62 from Eichelberger High School. In 2003, she retired from Sears after 10 years of service. Prior to that, she had been employed by Hanover Direct and Hanover Cable TV. Ms. Smith was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hanover. She was also a member of the Hanover Home Association and Hanover Moose Lodge 227. She loved to spend time fishing with Jude at Codorus and, quite often, she was the one that caught the fish. In addition to her fiancee, Ms. Smith is survived by a son Troy Gebhart of Hanover; a daughter Bridget Gebhart of Herrin, IL; a stepdaughter Beth Smith of Hanover; four grandchildren and one step granddaughter; a sister Shirley Rider of Hanover, brothers Edward Lookenbill Sr. of Hanover and Wayne Lookenbill of McSherrystown and a number of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grandview Road, Hanover. The family will receive friends Monday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Rev. Joseph Gotwalt will be the celebrant for the mass. Family and friends are invited to a time of refreshment and reflection in the Msgr. Gribbin Center of St. Joseph's Church following the interment. Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover is assisting the family with arrangements. Ms. Smith requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
