Barbara A. Calvaruso, 81, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Wellspan York Hospital.
Born on Thursday, June 25, 1942 in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard L. and Elsie Sumner Murphy. Barbara was a graduate of the Rome (NY) School for the Deaf and retired in 2014 from the Tower Federal Credit Union in Laurel, MD, where she was an Item Processor. She enjoyed following the happenings of the Royal Family, and collecting wreaths and bears. Moreover, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her daughter.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Hopper and son-in-law, Christopher, of Hanover; an aunt, Lois Leaf; two nephews, Dennis and Daniel Murphy; and a sister-in-law, Dawn Murphy, all of Utica, NY. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard “Ricky” and Dennis Murphy.
A private service is being planned.
