Barbara Adams

Barbara Adams, 84, of Westminster, MD, beloved wife of Minor Adams, entered into God’s eternal care peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born on Wednesday, April 26, 1939, in New York, New York, she was a daughter of the late Peter Andrew and Clara Wiatrowski Matikiewicz. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Matikiewicz; a sister, Carolyn Meyer; and twin great granddaughters, Hope and Faith. Barbara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 68 years, are four children; Donald Adams and his wife, Debbie, Terry Adams, Angela Welch and her husband, Ed, and Vincent Adams and his wife, Jennifer; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Rita Swift and her husband, Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover concelebrated by the Rev. Lawrence McNeil and Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm Tuesday, August 1 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc.311 Broadway, Hanover, and one hour prior to the mass. Burial will take place in Rest Haven Cemetery.
