Arlene A. Tomecek

Arlene A. Tomecek, 92, a resident of Hanover since 1966, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Columbia Cottage surrounded by her loving family.

Born January 5, 1932 in Johnson City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Gallis) Kadlecik. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry J. Tomecek, Sr., with whom she shared 66 years of marriage until his passing in 2017. She was also preceded by her son-in-law, Smoke Sanders. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Arlene and Jerry had a very fulfilling and adventurous retirement traveling throughout the United States. Arlene enjoyed playing cards with her friends, reading, sewing, volunteering at Eichelberger Performing Arts Center and was an avid Orioles fan. She cherished the many moments spent with her family, creating memories filled with laughter and love.

Survivors include her four children, Kathy Bowman and her husband, Mike, Jerry Tomecek, Jr. and his wife, Jody, Lauri Stevenson and her husband, Tom, and Kim Sanders; 13 grandchildren, Shannon Dzivak and her husband, Ben, Kristen Ripple and her husband, Justin, Brian Tomecek, Stephanie Henry and her husband, Ryan, Eric Tomecek and his wife, Katie, Rachel Ream and her husband, Shawn, Emily Smith and her husband, Jordan, TJ Stevenson and his wife, Emily, Evan Stevenson and his wife, Toree, Abigail Stevenson, Brianne Sanders Trimboli, Rafe Sanders, and Ryan Sanders and his wife, Katelyn; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
